herpes you can use some medication to put on the fever blisters but they will come back.

It is a STRAND of the herpes virus.

    More specifically Herpes Simplex 1.

Doesn’t mean you have herpes though, most everyone gets it sometime in their life.

It stays dormant inside your body until something triggers it. .(ex: stress, winter conditions, flu, etc)

Best and most fast way to get rid of it is to get medicated cold sore lip treatment of some sort. It will dry up and clear up in a few days.

Nothing to worry about, 80% of Americans have it.

probably herpes. you should ask your doctor, who can test for sure, and prescribe Valtrex or Acyclovir tablets to get rid of them, as well as a topical cream or ointment like Denivir or Zovirax.

(Zovirax OR Acyclovir tablets, not both, they have the same active ingredient.)

if you can’t get to the doctor right away, try Abreva. It’s the best topical cream for your lips that is available without a prescription.

fever blister are the same thing as cold sore, they are caused by the herpes simplex virus, which lay dormant in the nerves cells around your mouth. They become active during times of stress, such as a fever, or a cold, where you blow your nose a lot, and when the are is sunburned…etc. There are many medications to treat this condition such as Acyclovir or valacyclovir which are oral medications or denovir a cream, it shortens the length of the sore plus there is an over the counter treatment called Abreva that claims to shorten the length of the outbreak. All of these treatments are dependent upon catching the blisters early before they erupt or spread. Ask your Doctor for a prescription for Valtrex (valacyclovir) and you may avoid this situation in the future altogether.

Ask your pharmacist which brand of cold sore medicine he recommends. Mine recommended Anbesol which I’ve found works better than Abreva. I’ve had 1 or 2 cold sores a year as long as I can remember; they seem to go away faster with Anbesol.
